Heat wave prevails in AP despite isolated rain

Hyderabad,Jun 2: Heat wave conditions prevailed over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana while isolated rain occurred in some parts of Telangana and Rayalaseema.The maximum temperatures rose at one or two places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and changed little over Rayalaseema.They were significantly above normal at a few places over Rayalaseema. The highest maximum temperature of 46 degrees Celsius was recorded at Khammam, the Met department said today. Alur in Kurnool district recorded a heavy rainfall of eight cm. The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm are Hyderabad, and Holagunda (Kurnool district) two each and Golkonda (Hyderabad district), Palamaner (Chittoor district), Pamidi (Anantapur district), Pathikonda (Kurnool district) and Tandur (Rangareddy district) one each.Heat wave conditions may continue to prevail over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the next two days even as isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema. A spell of rain/thundershowers may occur in parts of city.Maximum and Minimum temperatures may be around 39 and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
