Andhra Pradesh, GVK complete 5 yrs of 108 ERS

Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), Aug 15 : Government of Andhra Pradesh and GVK EMRI, a leading Emergency Management Services in India , on Sundaycelebrated 5 years of 108 Emergency Response Services (ERS) to the people.Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah was the Chief Guest at the ceremony . Government of Andhra Pradesh in Public Private Partnership with GVK EMRI launched the 108 Emergency Response Service on August 15, 2005. Tremendous public response and ongoing support from the Government has helped 108 ERS save 73, 276 lives in Andhra Pradesh, said an official statement.Since the launch in Andhra Pradesh in August 2005, the 108 Emergency response service with the support of the Government has responded to 44,33,903 emergencies. The composition being 25pc pregnancy related, 22pc injuries, 11pc acute abdomen, 5pc each of cardiac, respiratory and suicidal attempts. 80pc of the total emergencies attended are rural emergencies. A total of 752 ambulances span the entire the state covering 23 districts. The Service has helped improve access to healthcare, increased the percentage institutional delivery, reduced maternal mortality rates and has improved the overall healthcare standards.Having launched the service in Andhra Pradesh, GVK EMRI in Public Private Partnership with State Government have launched the 108 Emergency Response Service to 8 states - Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Goa,Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya and Madhya Pradesh.
