Centre releases second instalment of scholarship

Hyderabad,Jun 7: Andhra Pradesh Minority Welfare Minister Ahmadulla Syed Mohammed today said the Centre had released the second instalment of scholarship amount of Rupees 43.41 crore for pre-matric and post-matric students of minority communities for 2009-10.Addressing a press conference here, he said the Centre had already released the first instalment of Rs 42 crore for the benefit of 1.13 lakh students in the State.Mr Syed Mohammed Ahmedullah said the government had sanctioned Rs 19.53 crore for scholarships for 86,011 pre-matric students and Rs 19 crore for the post-matric students and Rs three crores for the 1309 merit-based scholarships.A.P State Minorities Financial Corporation,(VC & MD) Alhaj Dr.Mohammad ilyas Rizvi (IFS),Principal Secretary,Minorities welfare Lingaraju Panigrahi also seen in picture, ( photo by RSJ Thomas)
