Vijayawada, May 24 : The residents of this city who had some respite from the sweltering heat following cyclonic storm 'Laila' last week, again experienced hot day today with the maximum temperature climbing to to 40.8 degrees Celsius.A Met Department official told UNI here the minimum temperature recorded was 27.4 degrees.Yesterday, the maximum temperature recorded was 37.7 degrees.The official said the mercury was likely to increase tomorrow due to ''Rohini Karthi''.The arterial roads wore a deserted look following the heat wave conditions as people preferred to remain indoors.
