APPA to take more activities journos' benefit: Chairman

Hyderabad, May 14 : Andhra Pradesh Press Academy (APPA) Chairman Tirumalagiri Surender today said the Academy would gear up with several activities for the benefit of the journalists and the media in the state.Speaking during an interactive session with the Editors and Senior Journalists in the print media to seek their suggestions on the implementation of the various activities taken up by the Academy, Mr Surender, who was recently appointed as Chairman of the Academy, said the Academy proposed to help the media to create a self-regulatory mechanism to follow ethics and improve the quality of media.Apart from the existing activities of the Academy, it was decided to develop an online knowledge centre by making the existing website more meaningful.It was also decided to appoint Media Committee to coordinate with the media management and professional organisations and create data bank on full particulars of all the journalists working throughout the state, he said.
